Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the west in an excellent game for early level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the croupier, unlike nearly all other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to worry about any other, more experienced individuals winning their mulla.
A further Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and plan while not having to make frenzied choices.
It’s also much simpler to wager on for a long time with just a small amount of cash since, to lose, each of your hands has to be under both of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given 7 cards faces showing and the house is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
