Caribbean Poker Protocols and Hints

[ English ]

Online poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players receive 5 cards. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your original bet, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes directly to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus an amount on par with the initial wager. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The house pays out chips even with your bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
