Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest players in the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world might be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
