NL Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five in which he loved gambling on different card games at a young age. He found himself getting really competitive in these card games as he was competing against his father. After finishing secondary school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a bit and moved away to New York City to compete in some big-time chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s initial two years were rough as he played countless hours and don’t win most times. He made some extra cash by being an runner for the poker players. He theorized he might better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to acquire more rest and focus attention even more on poker.

The actual advancement in his abilities happened when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly wager against one another. He had access into some of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, Howard would sharpen his logical thinking skills. Howard used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit texas hold’em.

He also helped his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was an excellent student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about how to make the proper choice. He told Annie to head out to Las Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the best women players the poker world ever. He relocated to Sin City in 1993 and played cash games for the following 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, he decided to play more tournaments.
