No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he enjoyed gambling on different card games when he was young. He found himself becoming very competitive in the above-mentioned card games while playing his father. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and relocated to New York City to play some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were difficult as he played countless hours and fail to win most times. He earned some additional money by being an runner for the poker players. He believed he might improve his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He made an attempt to get more rest and focus attention even more on the game.

The definite improvement in his abilities began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best gamblers would regularly play against each other. Howard was able to access a few of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, he would sharpen his cunning thinking techniques. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of NL holdem.

Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn poker. She was a great student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the correct decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. She is one of the strongest women players the poker world has ever seen. He headed to Sin City in 1993 and competed in cash games for the subsequent decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to play more tournaments.
