No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he could about poker. He would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative comments from others kill his ambition of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
