No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he liked betting on different card games at a young age. He found himself becoming very competitive in the above-mentioned card games as he was playing his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a little while and moved away to New York to participate in some big-time chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial 2 years were tough as he played extensive hours and don’t win most times. He earned some additional money by being an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he might better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He made an effort to get more sleep and focus attention even more on the game.

The real improvement in his abilities began when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best players would often challenge each other. Howard was able to access a number of the foremost minds in chess. With their assistance, Howard would sharpen his strategic thinking techniques. He used these strategic ideas in the game of No-Limit holdem.

Howard Lederer also assisted his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the proper decision. He told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and play in the WSOP competition. Annie is one of the greatest female players the poker arena today. Howard headed to Sin City in 1993 and competed in money games for the subsequent decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to compete in more tournaments.
