Annie Duke might not have won her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is one of the most feared poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP win came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run wild after a big success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her four kids. She was born in NH and grew up in a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, have a look at her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her how-to play poker.
However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has won her share of hard tables, including knocking out Howard a few times on several occasions.
Winning well over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wished to build up his skills and become a force at the poker table.
You might just catch her at the Bellagio, you will see her on the television and you might just even play with her in an online poker match, but don’t bank on an easy win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you will not beat her. although, it would be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
