Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While playing web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
